Namayanja rallies parents to empower children through productive activities

The Rose Namayanja Foundation Founder and Director, Rt Hon Namayanja Rose Nsereko has rallied parents to actively guide and nurture their children during the school holidays, encouraging them to engage in productive activities like farming and trading.

"As parents, our responsibility goes beyond just paying school dues. We must equip our children with life skills that will empower them to become responsible and successful adults. Activities like farming and skills acquisition during the holidays not only keep them engaged but also prepare them for the real world," Namayanja emphasized.

Rt Hon Namayanja made the call on Monday, 2nd September 2024 while speaking to parents, guardians and education bursary beneficiaries of the RNF in Semuto Sub-county, Nakaseke district.

Having come from a humble background herself, Namayanja was inspired to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“Our mission at RNF goes beyond just securing spots in reputable schools, tertiary institutions, and universities. We are here to transform lives, to instil hope where there may have been despair, and to provide these young stars with the tools they need to create a better future for themselves and their communities,” Namayanja emphasized.

Having come from a humble background, Namayanja said she was inspired to help fellow Ugandans by providing education scholarships to those from poor families.

“Our primary mission as Rose Namayanja Foundation is to secure bursaries in reputable schools, tertiary institutions and universities,” she explained.

She commended Rubiri High School and St. Noah SSS Noah Zana for agreeing to partner with the foundation to provide quality education to the brilliant young stars.

The Nakaseke District LCV Chairman, Mr. Ignatius Koomu Kiwanuka, praised RNF’s work, noting that its contributions extend far beyond education. "The Rose Namayanja Foundation provides not just scholarships but also financial relief and renewed hope to struggling families. This is a rare and commendable contribution, one that is building a better tomorrow for our children," he remarked.

Nakayanja Faith, a bright young student whose life has been transformed by the RNF bursary program, expressed her deep appreciation.

"The Rose Namayanja Foundation has given me more than just an education; it has revived my hope and faith in a brighter future," she said.

Mrs. Rosemary Byabashaija, the Nakaseke Resident District Commissioner, added a note of encouragement, urging the children to remain disciplined during their stay at home.
