EQUIP YOURSELVES WITH PERSONAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS – NAMAYANJA TO YOUTH

The youth need to invest more time and commitment to personal leadership if they are to become successful leaders who will benefit society, our Director and Founder Rt Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko has said.

While addressing youth leaders who had converged at Mutesa I Royal University in Masaka City for the third seating of the Central Regional Youth Parliament, Namayanja said that it was extremely important for the youth to sharpen their leadership skills by first mastering how to lead themselves.

“Leadership is not only about leading people alone. Before leading others, you must lead yourself. It is until you have mastered personal leadership that you can go out into society to offer leadership to the community,” Namayanja said.
Namayanja who was impressed by the debating skills of the youths called on them to take advantage of all available opportunities that are geared toward improving their leadership capabilities.

“Let us sharpen our leadership skills. I encourage you to participate and grab any available opportunity. Nobody is going to give you these skills on a silver platter,” Namayanja added.

She then appealed to them to take up skills that would enable them to create gainful employment for themselves and those in their communities.

On his part, the Lwengo district chairperson Mr Kitatta Ibrahim, urged the youth to stand out from the crowd by reading and acquainting themselves with new knowledge continuously.

“Read, understand and be knowledgeable. Once you are knowledgeable, you will stand out from the rest. The Apex is for the best. I would encourage you to struggle to be part of the Apex,” Mr Kitatta said.

He applauded them for their exceptional debating skills and called on them to embrace unity as leaders.

Mr Denis Lindo the RNF Team Leader appealed to the youth to shun laziness but engage in productive activities that would empower themselves and those around them. He urged them to provide practical solutions towards the

“The kind of people you meet determines the kind of money you make. Make an impression not by the dress but by the ideas that come out of you.” Mr Lindo said.
