The Rose Namayanja Foundation will continue inspiring, educating and empowering communities so as to improve on their standards of living through the various works and projects, Hon Rose Namayanja Nsereko has said.
Namayanja made the remarks on Sunday while speaking at a thanks giving ceremony held to glorify and thank God for saving her life from a nasty accident. Namayanja, while in the company of her ‘Maama’ Catherine Namirembe Ssebowa was in 2015 involved in a car accident at Kigoogwa village along Kampala-Gulu highway as she was heading to a fundraising ceremony for the reconstruction of Buddabugya Health Center III in Nakaseke district.
“I am because of the generosity of a good Samaritan. This inspires me to help, empower and give back to the community in any way possible. Through the Rose Namayanja Foundation, we will continue to empower and offer endless support to people and uplift their standards of living through many of our works and projects.” Namayanja said.
“We have renovated Sakabusolo School, Bidabujja Health Centre III which is still under construction will be the most modern and fully equipped health Facility in both Nakaseke and Luwero courtesy of the Foundation. We also have various projects running.” Namayanja added.
She also used the thanksgiving to refute allegations that she is plotting for comeback in 2021 to contest for district Woman MP Seat saying she had no intention after voluntarily quitting elective politics.
“There have been rumors about my political aspirations come 2021, but let me declare that i will not vie for any elective position, not even to be a chairperson of a borehole village committee” She asserted.
She was quick to commended President Museveni and Government for footing all the medical bills for both herself and her mother to date as they continue to recover.
In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya who presided over as the Chief Guest called upon Namayanja to find the purpose and reason as to why God saved her from that accident and deliver on it, adding that it would be the best thanks giving she would ever give to God.
“Hon Rose Namayanja, you survived that accident for a reason. God picked and protected you from that accident because your purpose on earth was not yet done. Find that purpose and deliver on it. If it has to do with supporting the churches, do it like you are now. If it has to do with anything political that you must do, do it. Discover that purpose and fulfill it to the satisfaction of the one (God) who saved you.”-the Deputy Speaker said.
Oulanyah who was awed by Namayanja’s miraculous survival, challenged the public to always commit to God at all times because only He can choose to call or save any body through his mysterious ways.
“Just looking at the pictures of the car wreckage makes you wonder how one could have survived such an accident. All this makes us marvel at the way God works mysteriously and we should worship Him for his wonders.” said Oulanyah. Adding that everything happens because of God’s plan.
On his part State Minister for Tourism, Hon Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi praised Namayanja for her unique attributes and dedication to work. He added that, Namayanja’s unique character draws people closer and has a unifying effect on those around her.
“Rose is very dedicated to all her desires, she is much disciplined and respects all calibers of people despite her seniority in both Government and the NRM Party” Kiwanda said.
Namayanja together with her husband, Charles Nsereko donated Shs 6 million towards the renovation of the baptism section of Najanankumbi Adventist Church. Her mother, ‘Maama’ Catherine Namirembe Ssebowa on the other hand donated 50 Iron sheets towards the renovation of Mayirikiti Church of Uganda.
The thanks giving ceremony was led by the Seventh day Adventist Central Buganda head Bishop, Samuel Kajoba and attended by Several dignities including, Uganda’s Ambassador to Sudan James Kinobe, Luwero district Woman MP Lilian Nakate among others.
